Marie Mason is a long-time environmental and social justice activist and loving mother of two. In March 2008, she was arrested on charges related to Earth Liberation Front actions that occurred in Michigan in 1999 and 2000; no one was injured in the actions. On February 5, 2009, Marie received an outrageous 262 month sentence (a little under 22 years). The sentence was higher than even that asked for by federal prosecutors. Marie’s sentence is the longest given to any “Green Scare” defendant to date.

 In September 2007, Eric McDavid was found guilty of conspiracy to sabotage federal facilities in the name of the environment. The government’s case was based on the word of an FBI informant who was paid over $75,000 to fabricate a crime. Both of Eric’s co-defendants testified against Eric in return for a lesser charge. On May 8, 2008, Eric was sentenced to an outrageous 19 years and 7 months in prison for a crime that was never committed. Eric is appealing his conviction

Sadie and Exile have been transferred to a re-entry facility (IMPORTANT MAIL UPDATE)

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, ELF prisoners Sadie and Exile have been transferred to the custody of the Seattle Community Corrections Office after spending more than 6 years in full confinement.
These kind of facilities are half-prisons where the inmates are allowed to go out for work and not much else.
We will keep them on our prisoner list until their full release.
UPDATE: We just received word that they cannot receive mail at the address we posted. There is no way to send them mail that we know of at this time.

Traduciamo ed inoltriamo una lettera che Marie Mason ha diffuso qualche mese fa,  in occasione del suo cinquantesimo compleanno. Marie Mason, in estrema sintesi, è stata condannata ad una esorbitante pena di 21 anni di carcere per due azioni ecologiste nel 2009. L’ex marito di Marie, Frank Ambrose, ha deciso di divenire informatore dell’FBI ed ha giocato un ruolo determinante nel farla incriminare. Al momento Marie è la prigioniera eco-animalista con la pena più lunga da scontare in assoluto. Cogliamo occasione per ricordare anche che l’11 di Giugno è il giorno internazionale di solidarietà con Marie, Eric Mc David e gli/le altr* prigionier* anarchic* di lungo corso , giornata indetta nel 2004 per Jeff “Free” Luers che ora concentra la propria attenzione sui casi di Marie ed Eric, e  che speriamo possa proseguire con sempre maggiori iniziative, azioni, proteste o semplici lettere solidali per aiutare a mantenere viva ed attuale la rabbia per queste assurde condanne, e soprattutto la solidarietà verso coloro che si trovano in carcere a scontarle.

Marie dipende dalle donazioni di supporto per mantenersi in prigione: per acquistare cibo vegan o libri. Ciao e Buon Anno Nuovo!

E ' ormai un po' più di un anno e mezzo da quando sono stato trasferita qui all'Unità amministrativa di  Carswell. Molte persone hanno scritto chiedendomi se ero in ospedale qui, e no, non lo sono. L'Unità amministrativa è solo una parte di un complesso più grande, dove si trova un importante centro medico per il Ministero delle Prigioni. Questa unità è completamente separata sia dal resto del complesso, sia dal centro medico. In realtà è persino più difficile vedere la maggior parte del personale medico da qui, a causa dei particolari requisiti di sicurezza che devono accompagnare ognuno di noi se lasciamo questa parte della struttura, per qualsiasi motivo.

Si tratta di un mondo molto piccolo, solo circa 20 donne si trovano qui in completa segregazione dalla popolazione carceraria generale. È un'unità mista, e funge sia come braccio della morte, sia  come una sorta di unità di controllo. Fortunatamente non siamo chiuse in cella tanto quanto lo sono gli uomini nella struttura maschile, in quanto la politica nel BOP è diversa per i detenuti maschi e le detenute femmine.

Sono stato in grado di mantenere la mia dieta vegana, per lo più a mie spese fino a poco tempo fa, e continuerò a farlo. E 'stato più facile mantenere una dieta sana e varia qui rispetto a prima. La cucina di Carswell ha opzioni vegan per i pasti quasi sempre, con poche eccezioni. Fagioli, riso e verdure sono per lo più delle volte disponibili.

Carswell è abbastanza lontano da tutti quelli che conosco e questo rende difficoltoso per molti venirmi a visitare. E 'costoso viaggiare, e venire qui incute un certo timore... Ma la mia famiglia e la mia amica Julie hanno già affrontato il viaggio per arrivare sino qui, le cose sono andate bene ed è stato bello vedere i miei cari. Recentemente ho dovuto lottare per tenere il ritmo dei contatti con le persone attraverso la posta e le e-mail. Ho avuto qualche problema in questi ultimi anni con le lettere perse e cose del genere, ma ho deciso di controllare meglio ed aumentare la mia comunicazione con l’esterno da quest’anno. Se avete scritto una lettera, o firmato una delle meravigliose cartoline (dopo un convegno animalista, al gathering di  Heartwood, durante una serata in cui si scrivevano lettere di supporto ai prigionieri) - vi ringrazio molto e vi prego di sapere quanto ho apprezzato le vostre parole ed il vostro incoraggiamento! Sono stata così felice di sentir parlare di passeggiate nei boschi (quanto mi manca poter essere nelle foreste!), incredibili gite in bici, foto di amici animali e bellissimi luoghi naturali e le descrizioni di tutte le grandi campagne per salvare le foreste e gli animali, per fermare l'inquinamento nucleare e per fermare il progetto Keystone Pipeline!! State davvero facendo molto!

Domani compirò 50 anni. Si tratta di un momento fondamentale  per riflettere sulla mia vita. Come tutti gli esseri umani, ho commesso degli errori ed ho qualche rammarico di poco conto. Ma io sono ancora una anarchica, una femminista, internazionalista, una Wobbly ( attivist* facenti parte del collettivo sindacale anticapitalista “Industrial Workers of the World” ndr), una organizzatrice per la comunità, una appassionata Earth Fist!er e sono ancora orgogliosa di aver fatto la mia parte nell’Earth Liberation Front e nell’Animal Liberation Front per difendere la natura selvaggia ed i nostri fratelli e sorelle non-umani.

Ho speso la mia vita in molti movimenti, e tutti mi sembrano essere parte del processo di cambiamento necessario. Questo esperimento di cambiamento sociale è ancora in corso e noi tutti dobbiamo continuare a provare, continuare a contribuire per quello che possiamo. Il mio corpo è intrappolato qui, ma il mio cuore è con voi che combatte ancora. Mai arrendersi, mai arrendersi, tenete le vostre menti aperte a inventare migliori compassionevoli modi per generare il cambiamento. E scrivete, quando potete. Sono una mamma, mi preoccupo per tutti voi là fuori…

La pareja llevan más de seis años en la cárcel.

Los presos del Frente de Liberación de la Tierra, Sadie y Exile (Joyanna Zacher y Nathan Block) han sido trasladados a un “centro correccional” de Seattle tras pasar más de seis años en prisión.

Este tipo de centros son una especie de cárcel donde los internos pueden salir a trabajar y poco más...

Il 14 Aprile 2012 alle 3, abbiamo lasciato un dispositivo incendiario fatto di benzina e una miccia ritardante che ha bruciato due auto di lusso in Luis Vile e Cucha Cucha.

Continuiamo a spargere fuoco nella città di Buenos Aires, come dicemmo di voler fare, dopo l’allarme sociale che intende trasformare ogni cittadino in un eroe poliziotto “al servizio della comunità”.

Oggi la civilizzazione sta diventando una società di controllo della produzione sostenibile. Ciò significa un aggiustamento degli sgherri che impongono l’ordine tramite la forza.

La polizia promette di diffondersi nella società; il nostro istinto libero e selvaggio continua ad andare avanti.

Non possono fermarci, non combattiamo perché la Terra abbia la sua libertà e nient’altro, né per migliorare le nostre condizioni di vita.

Usiamo il denaro per la distruzione della loro mercificazione.

Rivendichiamo l’attacco sul traliccio delle comunicazioni sulla collina Dundry  l’11 aprile, che ha messo fuori uso cinque servizi di comunicazione BBC Radio Bristol e Jack FM per più di 16 ore, così come  Avon e Somerset Police, che gestisce le comunicazione radio della polizia ( anche se loro non hanno confermato la notizia.)

Abbiamo ricoperto i pali con due pneumatici con stracci e alcool denaturato, incastonati  nei fasci di cavi elettrici posizionati nella parte inferiore del palo e per poi accenderli. Con immenso piacere volevamo dimostrare come con un abilità modesta si possa creare una netta frattura al ‘business as usual’
Vogliamo interrompere lo spettacolo dei mass media, e l’amministrazione del-tecnologica della società dell’informazione.
Le stazioni radio e i media in generale, rispecchiano e coltivano gli interessi della classe dominante. Propaganda mascherata da ‘notizie obiettive’ viene dettato parola per parola da fonti governative e aziendali, e gli ascoltatori vengono sedati con una marea di pubblicità che li convince ad adottare uno stile di vita consumistico. Oggi nella nostra società la critica allo status quo è consentita, purchè questa si verifichi nei rispetti delle restrizioni previste dalla legge, cioè le critiche sono ammesse soltanto quando quest’ultime non mettano in discussione la sopravvivenza dello stato. Queste critiche a norma di legge, sono svuotate di ogni vitalità, in realtà aiutano a mantenere l’ordine esistente, facendolo apparire tollerante agli occhi della popolazione. Idee veramente rivoluzionarie sono combattute con la repressione violenta, come nel recente caso dei siti web, di controinformazione anarchica, Culmine, Parole Armate in Italia. Ogni colpo repressivo merita una risposta. I mass media sono il nemico di ogni ribellione e di ogni tentativo di creare una vita libera.
I media sono solo uno dei tanti mezzi alienazione moderna. Le nuove tecnologie come i telefoni cellulari e le reti on-line sono diventati così imponente da sostituire le   altre forme di comunicazione. Siamo sempre più collegati tra di noi, attraverso la mediazione di dispotivi elettronici di massa. La società della tecnologico-informatica rende facile seppellirti in un  ossessivo aggiornamento di reality, ‘social media’, i giochi popolarità.

Di fronte a tutto questo, non saremmo complici di una società impoverita che sta distruggendo l’ecosistema di questo pianeta che ci ospita, rifiutiamo la presentazione ribaltata, del mondo dei media.

Questa è stata la nostra fiaccola della solidarietà per Luca Abba, per i 25 arrestati in tutta Italia, a causa  della lotta contro la costruzione della linea ferroviaria ad alta velocità, per Braulio e Adrian in Messico ed anche  Sadie e Exile negli Stati Uniti, e infine per i  membri della cospirazione delle cellule di fuoco (che ora rischiano di vedere allungare la loro pena).

Solo quería saludaros y contaros cómo me va por aquí.

Estoy bastante bien, a pesar de este estúpido resfriado del que parece que no me cure nunca. Compré algunas medicinas, pero el doctor de la cárcel es bastante inútil. Como ya os dije, me han ascendido en la lavandería. Ahora gano la asombrosa cantidad de 17 céntimos la hora... Me darán el cheque con la paga en algún momento de Junio.

Tengo un compañero de celda bastante conservador con el que no puedo evitar tener acalorados debates cada día, aunque siempre acabamos haciendo las paces. Pero es muy divertido chincharle. Es el estereotipo de cristiano conservador, esta noche hemos debatido sobre las granjas de visones, después sobre los coches de caballos, más tarde sobre la explotación infantil y finalmente sobre el poder de las corporaciones. Es muy inteligente, y hay que argumentar bien lo que dices para rebatirle. Es de ese tipo de personas a las que les gusta debatir, solo para oírse hablar a sí mismo creo yo. Estaba hablando con otro compañero de celda sobre los punteros láser en los que el haz es visible y va y me dice “No te estoy llmanado mentiroso, pero los haces de los punteros laser son invisibles. Aunque lleve aquí cuatro años no me lo creo, me lo tendrás que demostrar”. Y yo estaba como... “¿Por qué iba a hacer algo tan estúpido como eso?”

Neuer TE-SAT-Bericht von Europol auch zu “Direct Actions”

Gestern fand laut einem Protokoll der EU-Ratsarbeitsgruppe “Terrorismus” in Den Haag eine Polizeikonferenz zu “Anarchismus” statt. Das Treffen wurde von der europäischen Polizeiagentur EUROPOL organisiert.
Anlass war ein zweitägiges Treffen jener 20 EU-Mitgliedstaaten, die sich an der Europol-Datensammlung namens “Dolphin” zu “Terrorismus” und “Extremismus” in der EU beteiligen. Etwas mehr Hintergrund erläuterte hierzu kürzlich das Bundesinnenministerium.
Ein Extra-Treffen widmete sich militanten linken Bewegungen: Neben Inputs über Aktivitäten der italienischen “Federazione Anarchica Informale” (F.A.I.) standen auch Aktivitäten gegen “Schienennetzwerke“ und das “No Border-Netzwerk“ auf der Agenda.
Wegen der Konferenz in Holland (übrigens am italienischen Jahrestag des Sieges der Partisanen über den Faschismus) organisierte die Gruppe “Out of Control Berlin”eine Demonstration in Berlin. Auch in Den Haag vor dem brandeuen, riesigen Hauptquartier von Europol wurde eine öffentliche Kundgebung abgehalten. Europol will zunehmend operative Kompetenzen erhalten. Mehr dazu im sogenannten “Europol Review”. Die Polizeiagentur hat gestern anlässlich des Treffens der “Dolphin”-Datei gestern den neuen jährlichen “Trend Report” zu Terrorismus und Extremismus veröffentlicht.
Die Lektüre gibt neue Hinweise zu den Inhalten des gestrigen Treffens: Dort wird weiter gegen die beschriebenen Bewegungen gehetzt. Im Bericht heisst es zur F.A.I.: “In 2011, left-wing terrorist groups claimed responsibility for attacks in which explosives were sent in letters, targeting several public and private institutions and companies in France, Greece, Germany, Italy and Switzerland”.
In den letzten Jahren werden die Proteste gegen sinnlose Großprojekte wie Flughäfen, Hochgeschwindigkeitszüge zunehmend größer. Dies ist Europol ein Dorn im Auge: “In 2011, anarchists joined the ranks of protesters in France and Italy during demonstrations against the construction of the future airport of Notre Dame des Landes in Nantes, and the high-speed railway line linking France and Italy in Val di Susa”.
Zum Widerstand gegen “Schienennetzwerken” wird geschrieben, dass es sich auch um Anschläge in Brandenburg handelte: “Several improvised incendiary devices (IIDs) were used in a coordinated action to target railway infrastructures in Germany in October 2011″.
Dazu hatte die Bundesregierung bereits mitgeteilt, dass “im Zusammenhang mit den Brandanschlägen auf die Deutsche Bahn ab dem 10. Oktober 2011 im Raum Berlin und Brandenburg” (es grüßen isländische Vulkane) eine Funkzellenabfrage vorgenommen wurde.
Derartige Aktionen nehmen anscheinend zu: “Throughout 2011, left-wing/anarchist extremiststargeted rail facilities in Germany, Italy and Finland. Between 10 and 13 October 2011, a total of 18 improvised incendiary devices were discovered at nine railway locations in Germany. The attacks were claimed by a previously unknown group”.
Die Cops haben Sorge, dass sich Solidarität und das Wissen um die Herstellung der Brandsätze grenzüberschreitend verbreitet: “The group justified the placement of the devices as a direct response to German military deployment in Afghanistan and the fact that the German railway system provides logistical support for the German army”.
Auch zur zunehmenden Beobachtung des “No Border”-Netzwerks liefert der Bericht Neues: Demnach sei vor allem in Holland, übrigens dem Sitz Europols, eine Zunahme zu beobachten: “The number of incidents related to the so-called “No Border” campaign is relatively high in comparison to other ideological themes of left-wing/anarchist activism in the Netherlands”.
Hausbesuche bei Verantwortlichen von internationalen Firmen gefallen Europol und den Polizeien der Mitgliedstaaten gar nicht: “A significant incident in the Netherlands was a home visit – a tactic frequently used by violent animal rights extremists – damaging the house of the CEO of a construction company.
Laut Europol seien die “Extremisten” mehrheitlich jung und “idealistisch”. Dies sei auch der Grund dafür, dass zunehmend “violent left-wing and violent environmental extremist groups” miteinander kooperieren würden. Das soll zunehmen: Im Ausblick folgert Europol, “the increasing sensitivity in society to environmental issues may lead to an increase in violent actions by single-issue violent extremist groups”.
Auch im Bereich der Migrationsolidarität wird derart vorgegangen: “Companies involved in the construction of detention centres for asylum seekers or prisons are preferred targets of anarchist extremists. Confrontations between anti-fascist groups and their right-wing opponents have hardened and become increasingly violent in recent years”.
Weiter heisst es zur Repression: “A total of 42 persons were arrested in 2011 for left-wingand anarchist terrorist offences in 5 EU Member States: Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain. As in 2010, when 34 arrested suspects were reported, most of the arrests occurred in Greece, Italy and Spain”.
Die aufgezählten Länder sind identisch mit jenen, die der BKA-Chef Jörg Ziercke letztes Jahr als Hauptaktionsgebiet sogenannter “Euro-Anarchisten” bezeichnete: Diese “Europäisierung der Anarchoszene” vollziehe sich insbesondere in Griechenland, Spanien, Großbritannien, Frankreich, Dänemark und Deutschland. Besonders interessant: Eigentlich sollte Ziercke erklären, weshalb deutsche Cops vermehrt Spitzel mit anderen EU-Mitgliedstaaten tauschen. Konkret ging es in der Ausschusssitzung um den britischen Ex-Cop Mark Kennedy.
Laut Ziercke müssten Polizeien zukünftig “international und konspirativ” agieren. Die Spitzel würden deshalb gegen “Euro-Anarchisten, militante Linksextremisten und -terroristen” in Stellung gebracht.
So schließt sich der Kreis: Erstmals eingeführt wurde das Gespenst von “Euro-Anarchisten” als “Kartell europäischer Anarchistengruppen” vom damaligen italienischen Innenminister Guiseppe Pisanu 2003 zur Bezeichnung der “Federazione Anarchica Informale” (F.A.I.). Dass Europol sich jetzt der F.A.I. widmet, dürfte auch aus einer persönlichen Feindschaft erklärlich sein: Neben der EZB hatte auch Europol vor fast 10 Jahren ein explosives Päckchen erhalten.

Bristol - ELF incendia infrastruttura di comunicazioni

Rivendichiamo l'attacco sul traliccio delle comunicazioni sulla collina Dundry  l'11 aprile, che ha messo fuori uso cinque servizi di comunicazione BBC Radio Bristol e Jack FM per più di 16 ore, così come  Avon e Somerset Police, che gestisce le comunicazione radio della polizia ( anche se loro non hanno confermato la notizia.)

Abbiamo ricoperto i pali con due pneumatici con stracci e alcool denaturato, incastonati  nei fasci di cavi elettrici posizionati nella parte inferiore del palo e per poi accenderli. Con immenso piacere volevamo dimostrare come con un abilità modesta si possa creare una netta frattura al ‘business as usual’


Vogliamo interrompere lo spettacolo dei mass media, e l'amministrazione del-tecnologica della società dell'informazione.

Le stazioni radio e i media in generale, rispecchiano e coltivano gli interessi della classe dominante. Propaganda mascherata da 'notizie obiettive' viene dettato parola per parola da fonti governative e aziendali, e gli ascoltatori vengono sedati con una marea di pubblicità che li convince ad adottare uno stile di vita consumistico. Oggi nella nostra società la critica allo status quo è consentita, purchè questa si verifichi nei rispetti delle restrizioni previste dalla legge, cioè le critiche sono ammesse soltanto quando quest'ultime non mettano in discussione la sopravvivenza dello stato. Queste critiche a norma di legge, sono svuotate di ogni vitalità, in realtà aiutano a mantenere l'ordine esistente, facendolo apparire tollerante agli occhi della popolazione. Idee veramente rivoluzionarie sono combattute con la repressione violenta, come nel recente caso dei siti web, di controinformazione anarchica, Culmine, Parole Armate in Italia. Ogni colpo repressivo merita una risposta. I mass media sono il nemico di ogni ribellione e di ogni tentativo di creare una vita libera.

I media sono solo uno dei tanti mezzi alienazione moderna. Le nuove tecnologie come i telefoni cellulari e le reti on-line sono diventati così imponente da sostituire le   altre forme di comunicazione. Siamo sempre più collegati tra di noi, attraverso la mediazione di dispotivi elettronici di massa. La società della tecnologico-informatica rende facile seppellirti in un  ossessivo aggiornamento di reality, 'social media', i giochi popolarità.


Di fronte a tutto questo, non saremmo complici di una società impoverita che sta distruggendo l'ecosistema di questo pianeta che ci ospita, rifiutiamo la presentazione ribaltata, del mondo dei media.


Questa è stata la nostra fiaccola della solidarietà per Luca Abba, per i 25 arrestati in tutta Italia, a causa  della lotta contro la costruzione della linea ferroviaria ad alta velocità, per Braulio e Adrian in Messico ed anche  Sadie e Exile negli Stati Uniti, e infine per i  membri della cospirazione delle cellule di fuoco (che ora rischiano di vedere allungare la loro pena) .

hello. thank you so much for writing. about a year ago i had actually wanted to see a journal again but no longer had an address to write in order to request one, so it was nice to hear from y’all. i haven’t received the brigid issue however and fear it may’ve been rejected as most decent publications tend to be, but i thank you for trying all the same, and who knows? maybe it’ll show up after all. although i have done my time pretty independently i still do feel a responsibility of sorts to stay a part of the movement that so inspired me at one point. i still have 3 years of probation where i have to be careful but i hope to become more involved in certain circles when i am truly free again. i leave here on may 1^st for the halfway house in tacoma, washington. exile gets there the day after me and we will likely have to stay there the full six months before we’re able to return all the way home to olympia again. it has been a very long and winding road and doubtless there will be more turns along the way, but the worst is over and i’m feeling very positive about my free future.
the support i’ve received over the years has waned greatly and  have grave concerns about others that are in need of strong support for many years to come: marie mason, eric mcdavid, and my co-defendant justin solondz is also just  starting his sentence. i have felt lonely and forsaken at times and i hope that these others may be spared the added agony and stress during the remainder of their time inside. not everyone gets a lot of support from family and this is where pen pals and prisoner support must step in to fill the void, not to mention that we need financial support in order to eat as healthy as possible from the commissary and buy stamps and supplies.
please don’t forget the warriors—the battle does not end when caged, it only intensifies. and the only weapons we wield in here are honed through the shared strength of others.

Letter from Earth Liberation Prisoners Support about new information about informants and indictments in Midwest US

On April 9th, 2012, Frank Ambrose was resentenced to 70 months in prison. This is a significant reduction in his sentence, which was originally 108 months. Ambrose’s projected release date is now December 2013. This reduction in sentence is NOT the result of an appeal. Rather, the reason for this unusual reduction in sentence midstream is Ambrose’s continued “substantial assistance” to the government in “investigating or prosecuting another person.” While we don’t have any documented evidence of exactly who Ambrose has been snitching on, we do know the context in which his resentencing has occurred.

In December 2009, the government filed – then immediately sealed – an indictment against Jesse Waters for his alleged involvement in an arson of logging equipment in Mesick, MI in January 2000. This is one of the two actions to which Marie Mason eventually ended up pleading guilty. Frank Ambrose also admitted his involvement in this action. In the government’s motion to unseal the indictment against Waters in March 2011, they stated: “one of the Government’s anticipated witnesses was actively assisting the FBI as a cooperating human source (CHS) in its conduct of another arson investigations [sic] in numerous other Federal judicial districts. In order to avoid compromising the identity of that CHS before his or her investigative utility was exhausted., the Government sought and obtained an Order sealing the case for an indefinite duration.” They were unsealing the indictment because the CHS was scheduled to testify in another trial in the Southern District of Indiana on May 23, 2011, effectively outing them as an informant. Daniel Kruk’s trial was originally set for this day in the Southern District of Indiana. It would seem that the same informant was operating in both of these cases.

On March 27, Daniel Kruk (who has been indicted for his alleged involvement in an arson at the Republican National Headquarters in Bloomington, IN in 2000) filed a Motion to Compel Production of Brady Materials. The following day, March 28, the government filed an Emergency Motion to Seal Kruk’s Brady motion. At that point in time, Kruk’s motion was removed from the docket. We don’t know exactly what was contained in those documents. What we do know is that the government’s motion to seal reads: “The above referenced pleadings should be sealed as they contain law enforcement sensitive materials, pleadings that were filed under seal and that remain under seal, and other materials for which there is a law enforcement need to remain confidential.” In Kruk’s response to the government’s motion to seal, his lawyer wrote: “Defendant is completely unable to ascertain what information in his motion and brief constitutes sensitive material. For example, the documents related to Agranoff attached as exhibits can now be located on the internet. See http://waronsociety.noblogs.org/?p=3657. The U.S. Bureau of Prisons website advises that Agranoff is a federal inmate residing at a low security facility in Arkansas. Agranoff even maintains a blog site. http://davidagranoff.blogspot.com/.”

On April 12, the court ruled on these motions, granting the government’s motion to seal. The court also stated that Kruk has indicated he will be changing his plea. The order read, in part: “Accordingly, the Government’s Motion for Protective Order [Dkt. Nos. 43 & 20] is GRANTED and Defendant’s Motion to Compel [Dkt. Nos. 45 & 22] is DENIED, except that the Court will permit counsel for Defendant Kruk along with their client to review, but not to have possession of or make copies of: (1) the transcript of the sentencing hearing for Defendant David Agranoff conducted on January 13, 2012, before the Honorable Tanya Walton Pratt; (2) Agranoff’s plea agreement [Dkt. Nos. 44-3 & 21-3]; and (3) the Agranoff pre-sentence investigation report [Dkt. Nos. 44-6 & 21-6], in order to fully prepare for the upcoming change of plea and sentencing hearing scheduled for Mr. Kruk, on the chance that said materials may prove relevant to rebut or distinguish the appropriateness of a sentencing enhancement sought by the Government.” The fact that Agranoff’s paperwork is referenced so consistently in Kruk’s motions is troubling.

It seems that there is clearly a connection between the cases of Agranoff and Kruk. We also know that there are two case numbers listed on Kruk’s court documents. One of them is the case resulting from Kruk’s alleged involvement in an arson at the Republican Party Headquarters in Bloomington, IN in 2000. The other case, however, does not come up in any searches of court documents. This might indicate that the case has been sealed.

The court in Agranoff’s case has also taken the unusual step of removing almost all the documents from his docket including the indictment and the plea agreement. They recently sealed the sentencing transcripts as well.

We don’t know who else might be involved in these cases or if there are people who have yet to be indicted. What we do know is that Agranoff and Ambrose have cooperated with the state in ways that are still unknown and may be continuing to cooperate with the state. There very well may be further indictments coming down the line and there also might be indictments already filed that have yet to be unsealed.

Stay safe. Be smart. If old friends come around asking questions about past actions, politely decline to engage in those conversations. And don’t talk to the cops.

Bristol: Attack against Communications Infrastructure by ELF (UK)

We take responsibility for the attack on the communications mast on Dundry hill on 11th April, that took out five communication services and took off air BBC Radio Bristol and Jack FM for more than 16 hours, as well as disrupting Avon and Somerset Police radio communications it seems (although they are refusing to comment on this).

We did this by stuffing two tyres with rags and methylated spirit, jamming them in the bundles of wires at the bottom of the mast and then igniting them. It was our pleasure to demonstrate that with modest ability and ample will we can create a rupture in ‘business as usual’.

We want to interrupt the spectacle of the mass media, and the administration of the technological-information society.

These radio stations and the media in general enforce the interests of the ruling class – the state and corporations. Propaganda masquerading as ‘objective news’ comes ad verbatim from government and corporate sources, and listeners get blasted with a tidal wave of adverts worshipping commodity lifestyle. Any criticism of the status quo is allowed, as long as it occurs within certain parameters, taking capitalism and civilisation as given, and entrenching the idea that these are inevitable. These criticisms, drained of any vitality, actually help maintain the existing order by making it appear tolerant. Genuinely revolutionary ideas are met with violent repression, as in the recent case of the anarchist counter information websites Culmine and Parole Armatein Italy. Every repressive blow deserves an answer. Mass media is the enemy of all rebellion and of every attempt to create a free life.

The media is just one tool of modern alienation. Technologies such as mobile phones and online networks have become so all-pervasive that other more meaningful forms of communication have been undermined. We are increasingly atomised and connected to each other through the mediation of mass electronic devices. The technological-information society makes it easy to bury yourself in obsessive updating, reality TV, ‘social media’, popularity games and whatever gets handed down to blot out a way of life which hinges on control and exclusion.

Faced with all this, we aren’t bought off as accomplices to an impoverished society that is collapsing the ecology which hosts us on this planet, and we reject the endless slide show of media revelry.

This was our torch of solidarity to; Luca Abba (injured whilst resisting the military-style occupation by police thugs in the Susa Valley) and the 25 arrested across Italy fighting against the high speed train line construction; the jailed eco-sabateurs Braulio and Adrian in Mexico along with Sadie and Exile in the US; and members of the Greek revolutionary organisation Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (who are now threatened with having their sentences lengthened) and the others accused in their case.
