Last night 08.04.2012 a big fire destroyed 14 cars of Deutsche Telekom in Berlin.

A german newspaper says that 9 cars of Deutsche Telekom are burnt and the fire destroyed more 5 cars on a parking lot of the company in Berlin.

A statement on linksunten.indymedia.org claims responsibility from the group Kommando Lambros Foundas for this action because of the relation from Deutsche Telekom in the cuts in Greece. The text also demands freedom for Stella Antoniou.

“Last night, the night to Sunday, we left an Easter egg in front of the door of „Deutsche Telekom“ at Storkower Straße, as a fiery sign of our solidarity with all comrades world wide that are fighting against State and dominion.

Just some days ago a senior shot himself in the head, directly on Syntagma-square in Athens. The reason for that is, that he couldnt pay his debts any more and the only way he saw at all was to committed suicide. Since the beginning of the crises more than 1500 people committed suicide in Greece. Companies like Deutsche Telekom are responsible as well, that the people do not see any other solution than suicide.

Pressurized by cuts in wages, pensions and holidays, that have to be carried by all layers of population, a huge insecurity spreads all over the land. We hope that, with this action, we were able to bring the anger of the people to the heart of European capitalism. The world wide actionday „M31“ is the beginning of an international solidarity.

„Deutsche Telekom AG“ is one of many multinational companies, that try to take profit out of the crises to establish themselves on the European market. One example is the Greek telecommunication company „OTE“. The Greek state reacts because of the pressure of the EU and the IWF, that are pushing the privatization of the rest of the state-owned companies and to connect this with financial helps. A short while ago the Greek state owned 50% of the company and now had to sell 40% to „Deutsche Telekom“, that further on has the right to pre-sale the state-owned parts of „OTE“ that are left.

The privatization points out the first consequences for the employees of „OTE“. Recently the „Deutsche Telekom“ reported, that they will mark some changes for their new employees with the red pencil, beginning with the cuts on the Boni, as well as automatically stopping the contractual increase of the wage. Further on they will offer „freely“ retirements. These cuts should help to lower the costs for wages down to 160 Mio euro. Job cuts are the necessarily results. Already in October wage cuts up to 11% were dealt with the unions.
But there is resistance inside the OTE-staff. 2011 some independent workers called out for a general strike on the 7th/8th of may.

Further on the „Deutsche Telekom AG“ got a monopole position on the international market for telecommunication. Especially in relation to gapless surveillance the Telekom is a pioneer. In some federal states the daughter company T-Systems got delegated to build up the digital communication of police and fire fighter forces. Just some examples that encouraged us to visit this concern.
