St. Louis: Site of Police Violence and Home of Mayor's Aid Vandalized

ST. LOUIS • Graffiti that appears linked to a confrontation between Occupy protesters and police at Compton Hill Reservoir Park last week has appeared at the park.

The graffiti, which includes phrases like "Class war," "The city has blood on their hands" and "Cops, pigs, murderers," was sprayed on buildings, walls and statues at the park on Grand Boulevard just south of Interstate 44.
Paint on a door labelled "park police" reads "Only the blood of the rich will stop Occupy."

Police have not released any information about the graffiti incident yet.


The park was the site of a confrontation Thursday night between Occupy Midwest protesters in town for a regional conference and police trying to enforce a park curfew. More than a dozen protesters were arrested. Two of them were injured.
A police car window was smashed in the incident. No officers were hurt.
The home of Eddie Roth, public safety director for the city, was also hit by graffiti recently.
Susie Chasnoff, 60, of University City, a participant in Occupy St. Louis, says the acts of vandalism were not official actions by the Occupy St. Louis movement.
"I am not condoning it," she said. "I frankly don't know who is doing it, but clearly it is an attempt to express anger and frustration. It speaks to frustration that people feel over a hopeless situation with the police."
In an emailed statement, Roth said he and his family are "annoyed" about the vandalism at his home but grateful to have received many "thoughtful expressions of concern."
Roth said he doesn't think the vandalism "is representative of the Occupy movement in St. Louis, which is one of the reasons we have tried to keep it low-key. But it does point out the need for the Occupy participants who are passionate but responsible to push back against the few who are intent on being destructive."

Melbourne graffiti

In solidarity with the Greece uprising and with the determination to affect our cities, anarchists painted late night messages around the Northcote area of Melbourne.

On the front walls of the Pankoaki Brotherhood building (a nationalistic Greek association) was painted: “SOLIDARITY WITH THE GREEK UPRISING”. On the fence next door was painted something about the Australian situation: “REVENGE 4 TERRENCE D BRISCOE, FIRE TO THE PRISONS”, a reference to a recent Aboriginal death in custody in the NT: death via beating at the hands of the police.

On High Street – the main road of Northcote, adorning the windows of the Byron Employment apprenticeship and trainee centre: “BEHIND THE MOVEMENT NOT THE DESK”. A comment: we want anarchy not slavery, we want to do the work involved in overthrowing capitalism/slavery and the rich elite and the work we need to do to stay free. Not to be people payed crumbs, chained to the contracts of the managers to spoon-feed the wealthy few.

Also, although removed the next morning, was “BURN THE BANKS” down a large wall that contains Catholic school children by day, across the road from “SOLIDARITY WITH THE GREEK INSURRECTION” and two more comments on capitalism: “BURN CAPITALISM” and “DESTROY CAPITALISM”.

Australia, we urge you – keep your eyes on Greece – nothing is impossible – revolution is in our midst/ours for the making.

Bruxelles - Joyeux bordel et meilleurs feux !

Ce soir du 31 décembre, quelques individus ont bombés de peinture les façades des prisons de Forest et Saint-Gilles. Ils y ont écrit leur rage contre tout ce qui ressemble à une prison et leur solidarité avec les inculpés de Labège en France -accusés d’avoir attaqué une prison pour enfants à l’aide d’excréments. Ce 31 décembre 2011, à travers le monde, des dizaines de rassemblements et d’actions ont eu lieu contre les prisons et en solidarité avec les prisonniers.

Ni réveillon, ni maton n’arrêteront les rébellions !

- Con un lienzo demostramos nuestra complicidad y apoyo hacia Cristobal, quien fue atacado por algunos bastardos carceleros el 28 de Octubre, en medio de un allanamiento al modulo donde se encuentra. El lienzo dice “NI vuestras leyes ni vuestras carceles ni lxs gendarmes culiaos, apagarán el fuego de la revuelta. Fuerza mono” y fue colgado en un puente localizado en la entrada de la ciudad.

- Ademas damos a conocer rayados realizados en el viceconsulado español (estado que pretende extraditarle para juzgarle), solidarizándonos con Gabriel Pombo da Silva, recluido en las lejanas cloacas de Aachen, Alemania. De la misma forma lo hicimos con el Tortuga, quien será formalizado el 22 de Noviembre.
