SASSARI. Dopo le minacce arrivano le fiamme. Ieri mattina mentre gli abitanti della borgata dell'Argentiera protestavano per dire «no» al radar di profondità, un incendio ha distrutto la casa di chi ha concesso il terreno per l'installazione del dispositivo militare.

Il fuoco ha incenerito gli interni e gli arredi della villetta sul mare della famiglia Brandimarte, proprietaria di numerosi terreni nella zona. A loro, a novembre dello scorso anno, si era rivolto il comando generale della Finanza per chiedere di installare a Punta della Vedetta il radar di profondità, ora al centro delle polemiche.

Solo pochi giorni fa, quando tra gli abitanti dell'Argentiera si è diffusa la notizia d
dell'installazione del dispostivo, si è saputo anche che il traliccio, alto 36 metri, sarebbe stato costruito su un terreno dei Brandimarte. All'orecchio degli imprenditori era arrivata qualche minaccia. Neanche troppo velata. La settimana scorsa i primi avvertimenti. Qualcuno aveva sgonfiato le ruote della ruspa arrivata all'Argentiera per i lavori di costruzione del radar. E sul mezzo era anche stato attaccato un cartello (sequestrato dalla Digos) con la scritta: «Se quel mezzo vuoi salvare dall'Argentiera te ne devi andare».

Ieri si è passati alle vie di fatto. L'incendio - hanno accertato i vigili del fuoco - è doloso. Quando i pompieri del comando provinciale, verso le 9.30, sono arrivati all'Argentiera con due autobotti cariche d'acqua, hanno trovato l'impianto elettrico della villetta staccato e una finestra forzata. Escluso dunque il corto circuito: praticamente certo invece il fatto che qualcuno, dopo aver rotto l'infisso, si sia introdotto nella casetta bianca e abbia fatto partire le fiamme.

Sul posto sono intervenuti anche i carabinieri della compagnia di Porto Torres. Dai primi accertamenti non sarebbero state evidenziate tracce di benzina, ma stamattina gli investigatori del Comando provinciale torneranno per ulteriori rilievi e verifiche più approfondite.

I vigili del fuoco hanno lavorato per due ore per riuscire a domare le fiamme, ma niente di quello che c'era dentro la casa si è salvato. Il fuoco ha divorato letti, divani ed elettrodomestici al piano terra e poi tutto quello che c'era nel soppalco in legno. Un danno, secondo le prime stime, di diverse migliaia di euro.

Gli investigatori stanno cercando di capire a chi, nella zona, possa dare tanto fastidio un radar che, oltre all'individuazione di imbarcazioni di clandestini, possa anche intercettare traffici di droga in arrivo dalla Spagna e forse anche di armi. Ma oltre all'inchiesta ufficiale, aperta ieri mattina dalla Procura, c'è quella privata dei proprietari.

«Sono certo che i responsabili sono persone del posto - ha affermato senza esitare Fabio Brandimarte, figlio del proprietario della villetta bruciata -. Se non avessimo concesso quel terreno - ha aggiunto - la Finanza lo avrebbe comunque espropriato. Mi hanno assicurato che quel radar non è pericoloso per la salute e quando potrò dimostrarlo, farò vedere i documenti agli abitanti dell'Argentiera».

The place was also visited by the police in the company of Porto Torres. No traces of gasoline were found in the early investigations, but this morning investigators of the provincial command will return for more surveys.
Firefighters worked for two hours to douse the flames, but nothing of what was inside the house was saved. The fire consumed beds, sofas and appliances on the ground floor and then all that there was in a wooden loft. Damage, according to initial estimates, amounted to several thousand euro.
Investigators are trying to figure out to whom, in the area, radar can give so much trouble that, in addition to the identification of boats of illegal immigrants the drug trade coming from Spain and possibly even weapons can also be intercepted. But as well as the inquest opened yesterday morning by the prosecution, there is is that of private owners.
"I'm sure that those responsible are local people - Fabio Brandimarte, the son of the owner of the burned house said without hesitation. If we had not granted this land - he added - the Finance would still have dispossessed it.
