On Monday morning, sad news came to us. The comrades Carla Verdugo and Ivan Silva had been detained during the early hours by carabineros in Chile, who found explosive materials while searching their belongings. All this happened the same day that new hearings began against our comrades Juan Aliste, Freddy Fuentevilla and Marcelo Villarroel.

A few hours later, the rigorous raids began, and our comrade Carla was transferred from the 13th Precinct to the Center of Feminine Orientation (COF), and Ivan, locked away in Santiago 1. Both remain in prion for a minimum period of 100 days, accused of “attempted placement of explosive device of a terrorist nature,” according to the enemy’s language.

While the Chilean Minister of the Interior Hinzpeter rejoiced with the arrests, which really and profoundly disgusted us, the prosecution and the press tried to construct ties with others accused under the anti-terrorist law, in order to aggravate the compas‘ situation in the judicial sense. The evidence, as usual, is absurd (letters, books, posters, and even a solidarity bond).

Nevertheless, we do not want to stop here. On the contrary, we believe that attention should be put on concrete and direct solidarity action, and this is what we want to point out. Beyond the strategies, languages and realities of each comrade who takes up and acts on this war, we feel proud of the practices and courage of our own. It is something that we own and that we are never going to repent.

So, with this brief communique, in which all of our emotions in a moment like this could never be included, we intend to incite the taking on of a commitment, to pass from mere mention or basic support, we are speaking of revolutionary solidarious commitment, the commitment to extend and heighten the latent conflict, also to spread this information between the different imprisoned comrades, to organize and to not bow the head before authority’s onslaughts.

We will inform you of any news, but the facts are concrete, and there is not much lacking for the rebel consciousness to know what has to be done.

Sobre las recientes detenciones en Chile

 

El lunes por la mañana, una triste noticia llego hasta nosotrxs. La compañera Carla Verdugo y el compañero Iván Silva habían sido detenidxs durante la madrugada por carabineros en Chile, los cuales encontraron materiales explosivos mientras requisaban sus pertenencias. Todo esto sucedía el mismo día en que se iniciaban nuevas audiencias en contra de nuestros compañeros Juan Aliste, Freddy Fuentevilla y Marcelo Villarroel. Algunas horas después, comenzaron los allanamientos de rigor, y nuestra compañera Carla fue trasladada entonces de la comisaria 13 hasta el Centro de Orientación Femenina (C.O.F.), y el compañero Iván, secuestrado en Santiago 1. Ambos continúan hoy en prisión por un plazo mínimo de 100 días, acusadxs de “colocación de artefacto explosivo de carácter terrorista en grado de frustrado”, según el lenguaje del enemigo.
Mientras el ministro del interior chileno Hinzpeter se regocijaba con la detención dándonos real y profundo asco, la fiscalía y la prensa intentaban construir vínculos con otrxs imputadxs bajo la ley anti-terrorista, para agravar la situación de lxs compas en el sentido judicial. Las pruebas, como de costumbre, son absurdas (cartas, libros, afiches, hasta un bono solidario).
Sin embargo, no es aquí en donde queremos detenernos. Creemos que por el contrario, la atención debe estar puesta en solidarizar de manera concreta y directa, y es eso lo que queremos puntualizar. Más allá de las estrategias, lenguajes, y realidades de cada compañerx que asume y actua en esta guerra, nos sentimos orgullosxs por las prácticas y el coraje de lxs nuestrxs. Es algo que asumimos y de lo que jamás vamos a arrepentirnos.
Entonces, con este breve comunicado, en el cual no entrarían nunca todas nuestras sensaciones en un momento como este, pretendemos incitar a asumir un compromiso, que pase de la simple mención o de la ayuda básica, hablamos del compromiso solidario revolucionario, del compromiso de extender y agudizar el conflicto latente, también de difundir esta información entre lxs diversxs compañerxs presxs, que se organizan y no agachan la cabeza ante los embates de la autoridad.
Iremos informando según allá mas novedades, pero los hechos son concretos, y no hace falta mucho más que eso para que cada conciencia rebelde sepa lo que tiene que hacer.
Desde la Red de Apoyo a Freddy, Marcelo y Juan, saludamos y enviamos toda nuestra fuerza a Carla e Iván.
