Italy – Freedom for the NO TAV Solidarity Action-About living and struggling well. In the Valley. In the city. Everywhere.

Milan. On Monday 13th February a NO TAV group occupied the railway tract where the ‘freccia rossa’ train [red arrow train, a high speed train] was supposed to pass by, from the Porta Nuova station in Turin to the Certosa station in Milan. A blockage of twenty minutes behind the banner ‘We block everything like the snow. Freedom for the NO TAV’, NO TAV flags, whistles and leaflets handed out to commuters waiting on platforms. Railway traffic was restored only thanks to the arrival of police and carabinieri vans, which pushed the demonstrators away with truncheons.

Rome. On Wednesday 15th January about fifty demonstrators, after distributing leaflets against high transport fees at the Policlinico tube station, headed to the Tiburtina station in protest at the suppression of nightly trains and against the arrests of 26th January following clashes in Val Susa.
