Today Luca Abbá of the Val Susa is seriously injured in hospital after falling from the tower of a high voltage power lines, during the protests against the new expropriations on the morning of 27th februrary. The police attempted to forcibly bring him down, and he received an electric shock. He is in a critical condition as a result of the electric shock and the fall from over 10 metres, made worse by the fact that the ambulance was prevented from arriving for up to 50 minutes by the forces of “order”.

The people of the NO TAV have been fighting for more than 20 years against the construction of the Turín-Lyon High Speed Train line. This resistance emerged in a small Alpine valley, that has become a symbol of strength and determination against the perverse powers of the market.

Sabotage, direct action, popular assemblies and direct control of the territory are some of the strategies that the movement has used, managing to remain united despite the system’s many attempts to divide and criminalize.

The women and men of No TAV have responded with strength to all the attacks that the Italian State has launched in attempting to take their lands. In recent years the collective has been the victim of brutal violence. From the eviction of the resistance camp known as the “Free Republic of the Maddalena”, to the wave of repression that led to the arrest and jailing of 25 comrades for trying to stop the construction of a useless and damaging mega-project that only obeys the logic of economic gain.

El pueblo NO TAV está luchando desde hace más de 20 años en contra de la construcción de la línea del tren de alta velocidad Turín -Lyon. Una resistencia, nacida en un pequeño valle alpino, que se ha vuelto un símbolo de fuerza y determinación contra los poderes perversos del mercado.

Sabotajes, acciones directas, asambleas populares y control directo del territorio son unas de las estrategias de resistencia del movimiento, que ha conseguido permanecer unido a pesar de todos los intentos de separación y criminalización que el sistema ha intentado tejer en su contra.

Las mujeres y los hombres No Tav han respondido con fuerza a todos los ataques que el Estado italiano ha efectuado para apoderarse de su tierra. En los últimos años el colectivo ha sido víctima de acciones de violencia brutal. Desde el pasado desalojo del campamento resistente, conocido como “República Libre de la Maddalena”, hasta la oleada represiva que ha arrastrado a 25 compañerxs a la cárcel por haber intentado parar la construcción de una obra inútil y dañina que obedece sólo a la lógica del provecho económico.

El compañero Luca Abbá de Val Susa se encuentra gravemente herido luego de caer de un poste de alta tensión, cuando un policía intentaba bajarlo por la fuerza, Luca recibió una descarga eléctrica. El estado de salud es grave por la descarga y la caída, que fue desde aproximadamente 10 metros de altura, y el impedimento de la llegada de los servicios de emergencia por más de media hora. Esto sucedió en el marco de las protestas contra nuevas expropiaciones en el valle en la mañana del 27 de febrero.
