Save the Newchurch Guinea Pigs, Prisoners Released - uk

In May 2006, four British animal rights activists were sentenced to a total of 40 years behind bars after pleading guilty to "blackmail" for their roles in a campaign against the infamous Newchurch guinea pig farm which bred animals for torture & death at the hands of vivisectors (the farm has since closed, following years of activist pressure).

Josephine Mayo was sentenced to four years imprisonment and was released in May 2008. Jon Ablewhite, John Smith and Kerry Whitburn were each sentenced to twelve years; they were released from prison in September 2011.
