BREAKING NEWS: Kellie and Victor are out on bail!
by Camille Marino (Re-posted from Negotiation is Over)
After being arrested in the vicinity of a fur farm in Iowa on October 10 and spending 16 days in jail, Victor Van Orden, 24, and Kellie Marshall, 21, are out of jail tonight.
The activists are in remarkably good spirits and regret nothing. They are upbeat and cheerful. And both want to express their deep appreciation for all of the support they received from other like-minded people while they were locked away in county. They extend their sincere thanks for all of the letters, donations, and support of all kinds.
Victor and Kellie are glad to be home and enjoying their freedom. They are now waiting for their next court date where they will plead “not guilty.”
The pair was charged against them are as follows:
Releasing an animal from an animal facility (felony)
Burglary in the 3rd degree (felony)
Possession of burglary tools (aggravated misdemeanor)
Criminal mischief in the fourth degree (misdemeanor)
And Victor alone is charged with possession of a weapon (misdemeanor)
These charges could carry a 12- to 15- year sentence. However, as previously reported in Voice of the Voiceless, the attempted burglary charges have since been dropped:
In a positive development, attempted burglary charges against two people arrested at an Iowa mink farm last week were inexplicably dropped…
The pair were arrested a the rear of the farm late on the night of October 10th, where police found several holes cut in the chicken wire fence. They also found maps, hiking equipment, police scanners, a machete and more than $700 cash in a vehicle parked next to a gate behind the property.
