Crete Island: The general assembly of the workers in the Peripheral Unit of Rethymnon decided to occupy the building of the sub region (former prefecture) on October 18th, to coordinate their actions with employees in regions across the country.

Vyronas, Athens: Early in the morning of Thursday, October 18th, the branches of Eurobank, Agrotiki Bank, Proton Bank, Hellenic Postbank and Millenium Bank that are located in Kolokotroni Street, were ‘reformed’ by a group of anarchists who threw colours on facades, signboards and ATMs. In their claim of responsibility, the anarchist group points out: ‘… on the verge of a 48hour general strike we chose to attack the branches of local loan sharks, thus giving a simple and understandable response to the oppressors of our lives.’

Kavala, northern Greece: The premises of the Labour Centre are under occupation since the afternoon of October 18th. The occupiers have released an announcement in which they demand the immediate resignation of the leaderships of the two sold-out unions GSSE and ADEDY, and make an open call to all workers and unemployed to organize general assemblies ‘from below’. A general assembly of workers will be held on Wednesday after the end of the demo, while the building of the Labour Center will serve as a counter-information centre where also screenings and collective kitchens will be held during the two days of the general strike.

Desde Creta hasta Kavala, las acciones directas propagan la lucha de lxs trabajadorxs

Isla de Creta: La asamblea general de lxs trabajadorxs en la Unidad Periférica de Rethymnon decidieron ocupar el edificio de la subregión (ex prefectura), en el 18 de octubre, para coordinar sus acciones con lxs trabajadorxs en las regiones de todo el país.

Vyronas, Atenas: Por la mañana del jueves, 18 de octubre, las sucursales de los bancos Eurobank, Agrotiki Bank, Proton Bank, Hellenic Postbank y Millenium Bank, ubicadas en la calle Kolokotroni, fueron “reformadas” por un grupo de anarquistas que arrojaron bombas de tinta a las fachadas, los carteles y los cajeros automáticos. En su comunicado de reivindicación, el grupo anarquista apunta: “… en el borde de la huelga general de 48 horas, hemos elegido atacar a las sucursales de lxs usurerxs locales, dando así una simple y razonable respuesta a lxs opresorxs de nuestras vidas.”

Kavala, norte de Grecia: Las instalaciones del Centro de Trabajo se encuentran bajo ocupación desde la tarde del 18 de octubre. Lxs ocupantes exigen en su comunicado la resignación inmediata de lxs dirigentes de los dos vesindidos sindicatos de GESEE y ADEDY, y convocan a todos los trabajadores y desempleados a organizar asambleas generales “desde abajo”. Una asamblea general de trabajadores se llevará a cabo el miércoles después de la final de la demonstración, mientras que el edificio del Centro de Trabajo servirá como centro de contra-información, donde se llevarán a cabo también proyecciones y cocinas colectivas durante los dos días de la huelga general.
