Proposal for Anarchist Bloc at the October 22nd Coalition Against Police Brutality Demonstration

This October 22nd Coalition* is calling for a demonstration downtown as part of the National Day Against Police Brutality. As anarchists we can use this space to organize ourselves autonomously within our own groups in an attempt to push it further while simultaneously pushing the RCP out.

Though this demonstration does not have the intention of being confrontational, different people can write leaflets to pass out, paint banners with anti-police slogans, and bring flags to wave. This demonstration has a few functions; one is to come back to the streets and see how we can function together in our different groups. The other is to push the October 22nd Coalition's leftist and authoritarian rhetoric out of relevancy while presenting our own critique of not only the police but capitalism and the state as a whole.

Bring banners, leaflets, black clothing and something to cover your face.

When: October 22nd 2011, 2PM
Where: Westlake Plaza (4th & Pine)

* The October 22nd coalition is a front group for the RCP. Their sole interest is to gain supporters for their authoritarian communist party.
