Wanted woman Maoist nabbed by bermo police


A hardcore woman Maoist wanted in over a dozen cases was arrested late on Thursday evening, when she was coming to meet her associate at Tenughat jail under Peterwar police station jurisdiction.

Acting on a tip-off, a woman CPI (Maoist) functionary, Subhasani alias Anita, had come to meet one of her associates at Tenughat jail. Peterwar police raided the hideout and arrested the duo on the spot.According to Bermo DSP Santosh Pathak, Subhasani had joined the outfit at the tender age of 15 and has been with the outfit for more than 20 years. Police said she become a dreaded name in Bokaro, Giridih and surrounding areas and her influence was gradually growing. Subhasani was wanted in around 10 cases including police encounters in Visungarh and Hazaribagh. According to Pathak, the arrest of Subhasani was a good achievement for the police department. Subhasani, who belongs to Pirtard area of Giridih district, has a direct link with almost all top Naxalite leaders in the State. Police have got vital information related to Maoists activities and are working on it, he said.
