Jhumra ops again to find Navin Manjhi
BOKARO: Securitymen, includng distrct police, CRPF and CoBRA conducted an anti-Naxalite search operation in the Jhumra hill area on Thursday.
Police have launched the operation to arrest Maoist leader Navin Manjhi after receiving inputs from a woman Maoist, Shobha alias Subhashni alias Anita, that he along with his squad is hiding in Jhumra. Shobha was arrested from Birsa Chowk under Bermo on Wednesday while she was going to meet a Maoist leader who is in Tenughat prison and is a close associate of Manjhi.
Police had recovered several Maoist posters, a cellphone and money from her possession. Shobha is a resident of Pirtand, Giridih, and had gone to jail earlier after being arrested by Vishnugarh police in connection with a Naxalite incident. After coming out on bail, she has again joined the Manjhi squad.
“During police interrogation, Shobha has disclosed several vital information about the Maoists, especially Manjhi. “Police have also received important inputs on Manjhi following which raids are being conducted,” said a senior police officer.
He added that the district police along with CRPF and CoBRA are carrying out operation on Jhumra hill since past 24 hours while Koylanchal DIG Laxman Prasad Singh is monitoring the entire operations. Security forces are conducting operations forming several teams to cover the area fast.
Singh confirmed about launching of the anti-Naxalite search operations in Jhumra but refused to disclose much saying it would hamper their plan. “Security forces led by Dwivedi are carrying out operation in Jhumra and soon they will get success,” said Singh.
