2/11 Wednesday morning: posters were put up and texts were distributed by comrades in both Euaggelismos andLaikoHospitals regarding how the prisoners with health issues are treated at hospitals by the staff that sometimes even is in cooperation with the prosecuting authorities. The trigger was the vile behavior of a “doctor” inGenikoKratikoHospital towards St. Antoniou (doctor she refused to examine her properly and then she announced: ‘’like I care about the detainee’’) moreover reference was made about howS. Xeros, S. Seisidis and K. Gournas were also treated. A lot of people showed interest in reading the text. In Euaggelismos Hospital there was an impingement with an employee about the posters, but being in a hospital, comrades did not bothered. Also KKE’s posters were covered up or destroyed.

SURGERY – CORNEAL TRANSPLANTATION

On the 2nd November 2011 a corneal transplant at one eye of Savvas Xeros took place at the general hospital Genimatas inAthens. Savvas was hospitalized Tuesday, November 1 and according to the doctor in charge he must stay in the hospital for at least one week. The surgery was successful, doctor said. The same doctor also issued a written request for his wife and comrade that she can be next to him throughout the duration of his hospitalization since Savvas is not in condition to take care of himself. At this moment he is isolated in a room in the Hospital, surrounded by all different kinds of cops. it is expected the prison to approve the request of the doctor to allow his companion to stay constantly at his side.

NESSUN DETENUTO E’ SOLO, CONTINUERETE A TROVARCI DAVANTI A VOI

2/11 Mercoledì mattina : manifesti vengono affissi e volantini vengono distribuiti dai compagni negli ospedali Euaggelismos e Laiko riguardo alle minacce che i compagni con problemi di salute subiscono negli ospedali da parte dello staff e qualche volta anche in cooperazione con le autorità persecutrici. Il motivo è stato il comportamento vile di un “dottore” al Geniko Kratiko Hospital nei confronti di Stella Antoniou (la dottoressa si è rifiutata di visitarla a dovere e poi ha detto :”come se mi importasse di un detenuto”) più che altro in merito al suo operato. Anche S. Xeros, S. Seisidis e K. Gournas sono stati minacciati. Molte persone hanno mostrato interesse nel leggere il volantino. Al Euaggelismos Hospital c’è stato anche uno scontro con gli impiegati riguardo ai manifesti, ma essendo in un ospedale, i compagni non hanno creato problemi. Inoltre sono stati coperti o distrutti manifesti del KKE.

CHIRURGIA – TRAPIANTO DI CORNEA

Il 2 Novembre 2011 è stato fatto al Genimatas Hospital di Atene un trapianto di cornea ad un occhio di Savvas Xeros. Savvas era stato ricoverato martedì 1 novembre e secondo il dottore di turno doveva restare in ospedale almeno una settimana. L’operazione è riuscita, ha detto il dottore. Lo stesso dottore ha inoltre redatto una richiesta scritta per sua moglie e compagna affinché gli stesse vicina durante il ricovero visto che Savvas non è in condizione di badare a se stesso. In questo momento lui è isolato in una stanza dell’ospedale, circondato da tutti i tipi di poliziotti. Ci si aspetta che la prigione approvi la richiesta del medico per permettere alla sua compagna di stargli costantemente vicino.
