One Way to Sabotage Montana’s Wolf Hunt

So it turns out the State of Montana has a system in place that could shut down the wolf hunting season in just one week. Here is how it works:

There is a provision within Montana’s wolf hunt legislation which allows for the shooting of “diseased” wolves as a part of the hunt quota. This provision allows the corpse to be left untouched (for fear of spreading the disease.) The cost to do so is a $19 wolf tag, the same as if you were to hunt wolf for game. However, no wolf body is required as proof of a kill. So, the would be collective of wolf hunt-saboteurs could purchase the entire state’s quota of wolf tags without actually killing a single wolf. Within one week the entire seasons quota of 220 wolf kills through these means would stop the slaughter for 4,180 dollars.
