Occupiers deface two banks — Springfield, MO

More criminal acts are associated with the nationwide Occupy Wall Street Movement, this time in Springfield.

Eight people were arrested during a rally in downtown Springfield.

Earlier Friday morning, at least two banks were vandalized. People with Occupy Springfield have not returned our e-mail messages to confirm that this vandalism is caused by someone in the group.

Both banks that were vandalized have common slogans and images with the Occupy Wall Street movement. Some of the vandals wrote, “I’d like my bailout now” and “we do not forgive.”

The banks hit were the Bank of America on Glenstone Avenue at Battlefield Road and the Commerce Bank on Sunshine Street at U.S. 65.
