On November 5th, it will be exactly 10 years since Barry Horne died aged 49 in the hospital wing of the prison where he was serving 18 years for various criminal damage and arson actions mainly against companies involved in vivisection.
This year we will marking the anniversary with a rally and march in Huntingdon town centre, followed by a protest nearby at the gates of Huntingdon Life Sciences, the world's most notorious animal research centre, and the focus of many protests and actions during Barry's hunger strike campaigns.
We will be meeting at Riverside car park off Riverside Road, Huntingdon PE29 3RP, from 11:30, for speeches, info, food etc. At 13:00 there will be a short march through Huntingdon Town Centre. Straight afterwards we will be getting back in our vehicles and driving a few miles out of town to protest at the main site of Huntingdon Life Sciences, where tens of thousands of animals are tortured and killed each year.
We expect to see many of Barry's old friends there, and also many more activists who have joined the struggle in the past 10 years. Please keep this date free, and join us on November 5th as we remember Barry's courage and compassion, and renew our determination continue the fight for an end to all animal suffering and exploitation.

Of course many of you will not be able to make it to this demo, but you can still pay tribute to Barry in your own way, wherever you are in the world. Whatever actions you are taking for the animals on or around November 5th, why not dedicate your actions to Barry's memory, whether it's doing a demo, leafleting or an info stall, sabotaging a hunt, rescuing animals or taking direct action to make animal abuse less profitable.
Whatever you are doing, we would like to hear your messages of support and tributes to Barry, as well as details of your actions for Barry and the animals.

This site is dedicated to the memory of Barry Horne, an animal liberation activist who died in a UK prison hospital on November 5 2001. He had been sentenced to 18 years in prison for various criminal damage and arson attacks mainly against companies involved in vivisection.
In prison he went on hunger strike several times in protest against government support for the vivisection industry, and their broken pre-election promises about animal experiments. The third of these hunger strikes lasted 68 days, and Barry never fully recovered.
His actions generated worldwide publicity, and initiated a huge upsurge in animal liberation activity, the effects of which are still being felt even today.
