Seattle, Wa: New Years Eve Noise Demo at the Juvenile Detention Center

At 8:00 PM a group of 20 people gathered a little North of the Juvenile Detention Center. People stood and waited till about 8:30 PM. Then began marching around the Detention Center about 3 times, chanting “Our passion for freedom is stronger than their prisons” and “cops and judges we dont need em, all we want is total freedom” People lit off roman candles and M80s while others broke off the automatic parking gates on both entrances to the Juvenile Detention Center. Paint bombs were also thrown against the facade of the Detention Center and anarchist graffiti was written on several surfaces.. No police where around during this time.

After the 3rd time around 15 people eventually met up with 20 others who arrived fashionably late and police finally started to appear.. The group of people stopped near the cells of the Juvenile Detention Center on the South side and people began chanting, lighting off fire works, and trying to communicate with the prisoners inside. 3 of the prisoners banged on the windows and yelled back “I appreciate what your doing” and “I love you”. Some people in the crowd began to talk back to the prisoners through a megaphone expressing their love and solidarity with those locked up. As the demo was winding down one last “Happy New Year!” was shouted and everyone cheered while the remaining fireworks were lit off. After this many people dispersed without incident.

It's important to note that one comrade was arrested during the demo. As of now we are not sure what the charge will be, but we don't expect to be anything serious. Jail support is already taken care of and we are awaiting their release, which we suspect will be sometime late tonight or early this morning.

Let's make 2012 the year where their world ends and ours begins. The Puget Sound Don't Fuck Around.

Seattle, Estados Unidos: Ruidosa manifestación en la víspera de Año Nuevo

A las 20.00 horas, un grupo de personas se reunieron al norte del Centro de Detención Juvenil. La gente permaneció allí hasta las 20.30 horas. A continuación, comenzaron a marchar alrededor del centro de detención cerca de 3 veces, coreando consignas como: “Nuestra pasión por la libertad es más fuerte que sus prisiones” y “No necesitamos de policías y jueces-Todo lo que queremos es la libertad total”. La gente encendió velas romanas y petardos, mientras que otros rompieron las puertas automáticas del parque de estacionamiento en ambas las entradas del Centro de Detención Juvenil. Bombas de tinta fueron arrojadas también a la fachada y consignas anarquistas fueron escritas en varias superficies. Durante este tiempo no había presencia policial.

Después de la 3ª vez que los manifestantes marcharon alrededor del centro de detención, cerca de 15 más personas, que llegaron bastante tarde, se reunieron finalmente con los otros 20 manifestantes. Es en este momento que comenzó a aparecer también la policía. El grupo hizo una parada cerca las celdas en el lado sur y la gente comenzó a corear consignas, a encender bengalas y a intentar comunicar con los internos. 3 de los presos golpearon a las ventanas y respondieron: “Apreciamos lo que estáis haciendo” y “Os amamos”. Algunos de los manifestantes comenzaron a hablar por medio de un megáfono, expresando su amor y solidaridad con los encerrados. Como la manifestación estaba llegando a su fin, la gente gritó por última vez “Feliz Año Nuevo” y todos aplaudieron, mientras que se apagaban las restantes bengalas. Después de esto, mucha gente se dispersó sin problemas.

Es importante destacar que un compa fue detenido durante la manifestación. Todavía no sabemos los cargos pero esperamos que no sea algo serio. El grupo de apoyo legal ya está tratando el caso y así esperamos por su informe, lo cual creemos que será publicado por la noche o temprano esta mañana.

Vamos a convertir el 2012 en el año donde su mundo se acaba y empieza lo nuestro. Los del Estrecho de Puget [Puget Sound] no están jugando.
