Call for Submissions - Tides of Flame #13

The next Tides of Flame is set to come out in mid January. We are taking a month-long break over the New Year but will be back to the bi-weekly schedule after that.

We need your submissions! Right now we have a back-log of "My So-Called Life" columns, so we are looking for feature articles, analysis, poetry, photographs, illustrations, and local news pieces.

Some topic ideas:
- time/dead-time
- poems, poems, poems (write your own or suggest one)
- pharmaceuticals' role in maintaining social peace
- analysis of the twenty-something sex/dating scene
- fuck voting/Vote Nobody 2012
- critique of direct democracy (please email us if you want to write this piece!)
- law/crime
- critique of ideological nonviolence
- history of the Central District, Capitol Hill, any Seattle neighborhood or landmark
- Japanese internment during WW2
- gentrification in the context of the economic crisis
- relevant comics

Submissions should be no more than 1200 words unless they could be split into a series.

Once you submit your article, we will email you back with feedback/suggested edits if we want to print it. We will be sure to share the final draft with you so that you can ok the changes and approve it for printing.

The deadline for this issue is January 13, but you should submit your piece earlier if you want a more thorough back-and-forth editorial process.
