Police officers, media van, and police cruisers attacked at anti-police demo — Oakland, CA

Police say six anti-Wall street protesters have been arrested during a march in downtown Oakland.

Occupy Oakland issued a release saying the march was held as a protest against recent police actions.

KTVU reports that more than 50 officers stood guard outside headquarters Saturday night as roughly 100 people gathered.

Police spokeswoman Johnna Watson says during the march from Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, protesters broke patrol vehicle windows, vandalized a media van, and threw bottles at the police.

The protest came during a week in which protesters tried to occupy the mayor’s office, and police cleared demonstrators from the plaza in front of City Hall, arresting 12 people.
